3D Areola
Restoration Tattoo
3D Areola Restoration is a non-invasive, semi-permanent tattoo option provided by our Master Paramedical Tattooer, Kali. This procedure replicates the appearance of areola and nipples and is available to clients who have irregularities or inconsistencies, mastectomy/augmentations, total loss, or gender-affirming reconstructions.

Commonly Asked Questions
How soon following surgery can I get my Areola Tattoo?
In most cases, doctors will provide the client with a clearance to receive the tattoo service, however that time frame may differ slightly with your technician. In most cases, if the scars run lateral and through the service area it is recommended to wait at least 12 months following your most recent surgery.
How long does the service take?
A majority of the service is going to be the consultation, mapping, color matching, and discussing client expectations. The tattoo itself takes roughly 45 minutes to complete 2 areolas/nipples.
How do I know when I am ready to get an areola tattoo?
This service is available to clients on their time. As the technician, it is our job to support your decision when you have physically and mentally decided that you are ready! We understand that this is an immeasurable change and are here to support, comfort, and inform clients of the process of the service.
Give yourself grace ♥ You are full of strength and bravery!
What if my tattoo loses color when healing?
It is normal for areola tattoos to fade in color (about 30%) throughout the healing process, however if more color is loss or the healed result is not meeting your expectations, please reach out to your technician ASAP and we will make any accommodations necessary, within reason to the service.
Should I get a touch-up?
Touch-ups are not always necessary however available and we strongly encourage you to follow up with your technician so they can monitor the progress of healing and address any other concerns after the service! It is our job to ensure that you are satisfied with your service and provide the best care.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Dress comfortable and wear a top that is easy to remove. Following the service, if no allergy to tape or adhesive is present, a Tegaderm patch will be applied to the area to wear for 3 days and this will prevent any pigment from transferring onto clothing.
Can I go to a traditional tattoo artist for this service?
Although they may be able to provide you with an areola/nipple tattoo, it is recommended to seek out a specialist or Master Paramedical Tattoo Artist as they are specifically trained in realistic 3D areola restoration tattoos.
Will it be painful?
Depending on pervious surgeries to the area, most clients do not feel pain when getting areola tattoos. Although this may not be the case for every client, we strive to make the client the most comfortable even if minimal discomfort is present. Do understand that numbing is not used for this service due to compromised tissue in/around the area.
Is this service covered by insurance?
Unfortunately at this time, BLOOMXKALI does not accept insurance.
However, clients who have had a mastectomy are offered Areola Restorations free of charge.
Donations are accepted.
